Louisville Women’s Basketball falls to No. 3 Notre Dame

The Louisville Cardinals women’s basketball team faced off against the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on February 2, 2025, and unfortunately, came up short, losing 89-71. Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo stole the show with an impressive 34 points, making her the second Notre Dame player in the last 15 years to score 30 or more points in two consecutive games. The game was closely contested in the first half, with Louisville trailing by just a point at halftime. However, Notre Dame pulled away in the second half, securing the win. The Fighting Irish’s victory marks their 14th consecutive win, improving their record to 19-2 overall and 10-0 in the ACC. Notre Dame’s strong performance was led by Hidalgo, who also had six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. The Cardinals were unable to contain her, and she made history with her back-to-back 30-point performances.

The Cards were led by Tajianna Roberts with 17 points. Olivia Cochran added 14 points and four rebounds and Jada Curry added 12 points and a season-high five steals. The Cards return to action on Thursday, February 6 vs California at the KFC Yum! Center at 8pm EST.
