Louisville pulled away for a convincing 99-76 victory over Bucknell at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville on October 28,2025.
Louisville’s offensive barrage was led by a scorching shooting night from deep: the Cardinals knocked down 23 of 46 three-point attempts, converting at exactly 50% from beyond the arc. Freshman guard Mikel Brown Jr. stole the show with 28 points, going 8-of-11 from three point range, and adding six assists and four rebounds. Veteran sharpshooter Isaac McKneely chipped in 18 points, including 6-of-9 from the outside.Louisville tallied 26 assists on 31 made baskets.
While Louisville’s offense stole the spotlight, their defense took modest strides. They limited Bucknell to 40.4% shooting, held them to 15-of-35 inside the arc, and forced 13 turnovers.
The Bison actually controlled much of the early game: at one point leading 32-27 with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half. But Louisville closed the half on a 21-3 run to build a comfortable 56-39 lead.
In the second half, Louisville kept up the three-point assault and widened the margin to as many as 27 points.
For Louisville, this game was a statement that their offense is capable of elite levels of production — especially from the three point range.
It wasn’t a marquee regular-season contest, but it gave a glimpse of what Louisville can become — a team deadly from three, sharp in ball-movement, capable of blowing opponents out when in rhythm. Bucknell left with positives, but the gap was visible on this night. Next up for Louisville is South Carolina State at the KFC Yum! Center Monday, November 3rd at 9pm.
