Louisville Men’s basketball wins 10th game in a row with a victory over Wake Forest

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the University of Louisville men’s basketball team continued their winning streak of 10 games with a commanding 72-59 victory over Wake Forest at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Cardinals’ offense was led by Terrence Edwards Jr., who scored 18 points, and Reyne Smith, who added 16 points, each contributing four three-pointers. Chucky Hepburn also made a significant impact with 14 points and eight assists.

Louisville established an early lead, going up 22-11, and expanded it to 45-21 by halftime. The team’s defense forced 15 turnovers from Wake Forest, while committing only nine themselves. This victory improved Louisville’s season record to 16-5 overall and 9-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

This win also marked the end of a three-game losing streak against Wake Forest, highlighting the Cardinals’ resurgence this season under head coach Pat Kelsey, a former Wake Forest assistant.

Looking ahead, Louisville is set to face Georgia Tech on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, with tip-off scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
