Louisville Drops Overtime Heartbreaker to No. 24 Virginia, 30–27

Louisville suffered its first loss of the season in a 30–27 overtime defeat to No. 24 Virginia at L&N Stadium. Despite outgaining the Cavaliers 383–237, two defensive touchdowns by Virginia proved decisive.

A fourth-and-1 fumble in the first quarter turned into a 61-yard scoop-and-score, and a 47-yard pick-six in the third quarter dug Louisville into a 24–14 hole. Quarterback Miller Moss kept the Cards alive with 329 passing yards and two touchdowns, both to standout receiver Chris Bell, who finished with 12 catches for 170 yards.

Down ten in the fourth, Louisville rallied with a Bell touchdown and a 50-yard game-tying field goal from Cooper Ranvier with just over a minute left, forcing overtime.

In OT, Louisville settled for a field goal before Virginia answered with a 2-yard touchdown run to end it.

The Cardinals fall to 4–1 (1–1 ACC) but showed resilience and offensive firepower. Virginia improves to 5–1 (3–0 ACC)and snaps a three-game losing streak to Louisville.
