Cards fall to Boston College 67-61 Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center. Tough closer for the Cards as they prepare to face NC State in the ACC Tournament opener.
Brandon Huntley-Hatfield lead with 14 pts and 9 rebounds. Skyy Clark trailed with 11 total points and 5 assists. The Cards were outrebounded 42-31 and outscored 11-1 on second-chance points.
Coach Kenny Payne was disappointed with the Card’s performance and lack of fire displayed in Saturday’s game. “They have shown potential in what they can do. Have they been consistent enough? Not for me”, stated Coach Payne during the press conference. Payne also mentioned he has noticed the lack of engagement and willingness to fight over the season.
Regarding the return of Coach Payne for next years season is up for debate. When questioned Payne responded,“ I hope we hit the runway to fix this program. But that is not my decision. My job is to, everyday, get this team better and fight to get it better and that is all that I am concerned with”.
